A continuous polytetrafluoroethylene foam-coating to glass fiber mat with superior self-cleaning, antistatic and high filtration efficiency performances

Air pollution has become a significant global environmental issue, leading to adverse health effects and respiratory diseases. To address this challenge, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane-based fibrous filters have gained popularity in the past decade. However, thinness low mechanical strength of ePTFE membranes make them susceptible damage from particle collisions. As an alternative membranes, PTFE emulsion emerged as promising approach enhance filtration efficiency. due PTFE's surface energy high crystallinity, it is difficult for self-bond into adhere substrates. Therefore, efficiency PTFE-impregnated filter materials does not meet requirements ultra-low emissions, they poor wear resistance, resulting short service life. Herein, we fabricate foam-coating membrane filter. The influences contents PVA on film morphology, air permeability, pore size distribution, abrasive resistance antistatic properties were analyzed. self-cleaning performance was simulated measured well. Notably, frictional mass loss index 0.07. After 30 cycles, 98.93%, strip ratio 91.03%. Our design provided new direction application field with superior self-cleaning, performances.
